Accessibility

At Victoria International Marina, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment by reducing barriers and ensuring all guests can enjoy our facilities comfortably. We highly value visitor feedback as it helps us continuously improve our accessibility features. Below, you’ll find important details about the accessibility of our marina and office building.

“The City of Victoria recognizes the value of all individuals and believes diversity strengthens our community. We honor the essential insights of those with lived experiences of disability and are committed to ensuring their voices contribute to community planning and decision-making.”

Accessible Parking

Public parallel parking (2-hour limit between 8am-6pm) is available on Cooperage Place on a first-come, first-served basis. Cooperage Place has a slight uphill gradient, which becomes steeper the further from the marina you park. Access from all parking options to the marina and the marina office is barrier free. Underground parking can be arranged by contacting the marina office prior to your visit.

Accessible Entrances

The main entrance to the marina office is wheelchair accessible. All gates and doors are equipped with push-button entry, offering ample time for easy access.

Restroom Accessibility

The marina office includes one accessible restroom located off the main event space. It features grab bars, an angled mirror, appropriately positioned sinks, and sufficient space for maneuverability. The restroom is also equipped with a foldaway baby changing table.

Pathways

Victoria is highly accessible. The West Song Walkway runs through the marina property, offering a paved, barrier-free path along the north shore of the harbour. It connects directly to the David Foster Walkway, which extends access to downtown and beyond.

Service Animal Policy

We are service-animal friendly at our facilities. Lime Bay Park, adjacent to the marina, provides a convenient relief area for these important companions.

Accessible Docking Facilities

The docks are wheelchair accessible. The main marina gates open automatically with a FOB device. An articulating ramp connects to a static ramp, and its slope adjusts with the tide, ranging from a maximum of 5 degrees at low tide to level at high tide.

Visual Aids

The marina offers English language wayfinding signage. From dusk to dawn, all docks are illuminated with linear strip lighting, and overhead lighting guides the pathways to the building.
