Savary Island Anchorage
Savary Island. Savary Island is a 4-mile-long sandy island that lies approximately east and west and is served by water taxi from Lund. The island is a favourite destination for Vancouverites. The small public dock on the north shore is for loading and unloading only. Anchorage is good, sand bottom, within easy dinghy distance of shore. Savary Island has no real protection harbour, but the beaches are some of the best in BC
In the summer months, Riggers a licensed pub-style restaurant, and a small general store are open. From the public dock turn right and follow the road for about one-half mile. Bicycles can be rented nearby. We visited Savary Island recently and anchored in 50-70 feet just off the dock and mooring field. We took the dinghy to shore and explored the island. The gently sloping beach makes landing and mooring the dinghy a challenge. visiting by water taxi from Lund might be a better idea if you plan to spend the day there.
