Conover Cove Wallace Island Marine Park Gulf Islands

A reef directly offshore from the entrance to Conover Cove on Wallace Island can be avoided by going around either end.  Especially from the southeast, give the reef ample room.  When you leave, remember the reef is there.  We are told that each year boats depart at high tide and drive up on the rocks.  A dock for boats 36 feet and under provides access to the island, a nominal fee is charged.  An honour-system pay-box is located at the head of the ramp.  Conover Cove is fairly shoaled at the dock and shoals even more toward both ends of the bay.   You can anchor and stern-tie to rings set in the rocks on shore; the rights are marked with red painted arrows.  Be sure to check your depths.  The entrance to Conover Cove is shallow at low tide.
