Box 8, Stuart Island, BC V0P 1V0 (250) 203-2553 Monitors VHF 66A.  Open late May to mid-September, guest moorage for boats to 200 feet on wide, stable concrete docks, 30 & 50 amp power at every dock pedestal, plus single-phase 100 amp power upon request.  Potable water on the docks, Wi-Fi, good cell phone service, fishing guides, restaurants, gift shop, sauna, showers, exercise room and hot tub.

The service at Dent Island Lodge is first class with moorage and dinner prices to match. The professional staff treat you like a special guest in a small, quiet, private retreat.   At the end of the day after the guide boats have returned from fishing, an elegant appetizer table is set out.   The dinner menu is the main dining room is limited but very well done.

The lodge is at the back of a little bay separating Dent Island from the mainland, next to Canoe Pass rapids, where 10 – 12 knot whitewater tidal currents churn.  A spacious deck overlooks the pass.  Another deck screened by forest, holds a hot tub.

Schedule arrivals and departures to coincide with slack water in Gillard Passage, and approach from the southeast.  The 1:20,000 inset on Chart 3543 shows the lodge location including the dock.  As the inset shows, a shoal area 0.9 meter deep at zero tide is on the east side of the entry.  Stay mid-channel.  It is best to make reservations, even in the less-busy weeks of the season.  Reservations are just about essential during high season.
