Kanish Bay Anchorage Desolation Sound

Kanish Bay in Desolation Sound has several good anchorages.  You could sneak behind Chained Islands, and some thought and planning to find a number of delightful spots, especially in settled weather.  Granite Bay is well protected with a good bottom, houses dot the shoreline.  The small bay between Granite Bay and Small Inlet offers protection from westerlies.  An aquaculture operation is in the mouth of this bay.

Correspondents James & Jennifer Hamilton anchored in the cove behind Bodega Point, just south of the 2-meter rock.  “Really beautiful.  Birds calling.  Good holding in sticky mud”
