Lyall Harbour Anchorage – Lyall Harbour Wharf

Lyall Harbour on Saturna Island, is a large, well-protected anchorage, with a ferry landing and store near the entrance.  Nearby Boot Cove is a beautiful spot with anchorage in 12 to 18 feet, but it is crowded with resident boats on mooring buoys and can be subject to williwaws blowing over a low swale on Saturna Island.

Lyall Harbour is off the beaten path for the Gulf Islands.  it is quiet and gradually being discovered.   Your choice, anchoring the bay or tie at the dock.  Nothing fancy.  This is not Ganges.  The Saturna Point Store is the center of activity in Lyall Harbour and just up the road from the Public Wharf.  The Lighthouse Pub is downstairs in the same building and has very good food with fish and chips being their signature item, though some say their lamb burger is to die for.   Dine inside or out on the deck.  The beer is cold and the drink menu is imaginative and available by the drink or by the pitcher.   The pub is a family business.

Next to the ferry dock.  Open all year, 200 feet of dock space.  No power, water, washrooms or showers.  Commercial fishing vessels have priority.  Gasoline and diesel at nearby fuel dock.  Pay for the fuel at Saturna Point Store, just above the dock.   Moorage is collected at the honour box at the top of the dock.
