Sturt Bay Anchorage

Sturt Bay Anchorage.  Locally called Marble Bay, on Malaspina Strait near the north end of Texada Island.  The Texada Boat Club has extensive floats, visitors welcomed.  The floats have water and 15 amp power.  Bob and Maggie Timms are the wharfingers at 604-414-5897.  Anchorage is elsewhere in the bay.

Hiking trails are close to the docks.  The Centennial Service Garage (gas station) has WiFi.  A new RV campground just up the hill from the garage has laundry facilities, coin-operated showers, and Wi-Fi.  The full-service grocery store has liquor and good meats.  A farmers market is held Sundays from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Gillies Bay Ballpark.

Caution:  Sturt Bay is a welcome haven if a northwesterly is kicking up Malaspina Strait, but not suitable in a fresh southeasterly.  Swells from a southeasterly bounce back from the north shore of the bay, making it and the guest moorage dock lumpy.  Blubber Bay is a better anchorage in a southeasterly.
