Toba Wilderness Marina and Yacht Moorage

Toba Wilderness Marina (250) 830-2269; inquiries@tobawilderness.com contact VHF 66A ahead of time for tie-up instructions upon approach.  Reservations highly recommended during July and August.  This is a quiet marina, located behind Double Island at the mouth of Toba Inlet.  The views up Toba Inlet in Desolation Sound are breathtaking.  The marina expanded its dock space to 1400 feet of moorage, on concrete floats, for vessels up to 200 feet, with no requirement for rafting.   At the top of the dock ramp, enjoy the new Welcome House for afternoon and evening get-togethers.   5 km of hiking trails, Wi-Fi, washrooms, showers, and garbage drop-off (1 bag only per day with overnight moorage)  Abundant clean clear water is available on the dock, with 30 and 50 amp power.

Scheduled floatplane service is available by Kenmore Air.  NW Seaplanes and Corilair also stop there.  Secure long-term moorage and boat watch available.  Please do not go into the water while hiking to the base of the falls, as this is the source of the marina’s drinking water.  This marina is not set up for day visits or tours.  overnight guests only, please.  Anchoring in the bay adjacent to the dock is not recommended.

Toba Inlet Desolation Sound extends 20 miles in the 8,000 foot high Coast Range mountains until it ends in drying flats at the mouth of the Toba River.  The water is very deep right up to the rock wall shores.    Magnificent waterfalls crash into the sea, especially early in the season when the snowpack is rapidly melting.   Toba Inlet reminds us of the inlets north of Cape Caution.  Limited anchorage is possible at the head of the inlet, and in Brem Bay off the mouth Brem River.

Toba Inlet’s most dramatic waterfalls are on the north side, about 3 miles past Snout Point, opposite Brem Bay, on the south side of the inlet.
