Degnen Bay Gabriola Island and Public Wharf
Degnen Bay. Degnen Bay, on Gabriola Passage at the south end of Gabriola Island, is a good anchorage but a little crowded with boats on moorings. Entering Degnen Bay, favour the east side, close to Josef Point, to avoid rocks in the middle. A petroglyph of a killer whale is on a slab of rock near the head of the bay. Correspondents John and Lorraine Littlewood report additional petroglyphs on the United Church grounds. A public dock provides access to Gabriola Island. All other docks are private.
Degnen Bay Public Wharf. Has 190 feet of dock space, power, garbage drop, but no other facilities. Commercial fishing vessels have priority.
