Gorge Harbour Marina Resort Whaletown monitors VHF 66A. Open all year, gasoline and diesel at the fuel dock, guest moorage along 1800 feet of dock. Reservations are recommended from May 15 to September 15; held-back moorage space is released daily at 4:00 pm, first-come, first-served. Facilities include 30 & 50 amp power, water, swimming pool, hot tube, barbecue areas, washrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and payphones. A well-stocked convenience store has fresh vegetables, meats, dairy products, liquor, ice, propane, DVD movie rentals. Four lodge rooms and a poolside cottage for rent. Garbage disposal is available for marina guests for a fee, with no charge for recycling. Complete recycling instructions are available. The resort has an RV park, 2 trailer rentals, campgrounds, lodge accommodations, and floatplane service. Boats, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and cars for rent.
The resort features a pool and hot tub surrounded by attractive landscaping. A patio with a fireplace and barbecue area are available for guest use. Both overlook the harbour. Live music is often performed in the evening on the patio. There is an elaborate children’s play area. Many boaters consider Gorge Harbour Marina & Resort to be on the list of special destinations. The Gorge Harbour Marina farmer’s market is open from 10 am to 1 pm Saturdays during the summer.
The Floathouse Restaurant always gets excellent reviews. The atmosphere is cozy and conducive to multi-table conversations. Open from May through September, with reduced hours in winter. During peak season the restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, tapas, dinner and a Sunday brunch. Espresso and pastries at the bar all day long.
