Homfray Channel Anchorage

Homfray Channel.  Homfray Channel curves from the south end of West Redonda Island and around East Redonda Island until it merges with Toba Inlet.  The only bays of consequence are Forbes Bay and Atwood Bay.   The only bays of consequence are Forbes Bay and Artwood Bay.  The center of Atwood Bay is too deep for convenient anchoring, though we’ve successfully anchored in the nook indenting the north shore.  Bob Stephenson, the former owner of Desolation Sound Yacht Charters, says Forbes Bay can be good for anchoring.

In Bill Wolferstan’s book, Desolation Sound and the Discovery Islands, he tells of two Native pictographs on the west shore of Homfray Channel, one of a single fish, the other unidentified.  Actually, there are several pictographs located about 10 feet above the high water line.
