Roche Harbor Marina

Roche Harbor Marina is on the northwest corner of San Juan Island, is popular, attractive and has a number of interesting anchorages and moorages. From the (Spieden Channell), enter Roche Harbor on the west side of Pearl Island. The passage east of Pearl Island is shallow, and is in line with dangerous rocks outside. From the south (Haro Strait), entry is through Mosquito Pass.

Roche Harbor is one of the busiest U.S. Customs ports of entry for boats. During the prime summer season, the floating customs office and the harbormaster’s office are located on G-dock. The customs landing area on G-dock is noted with signs on the pilings. Outside of the summer months, the floating customs office and harbourmaster’s office are located just north of the fuel dock on the main pier below the flag pavilion. Moor between the signs only when clearing customs. On busy days, boats tend to create an informal line on the water waiting for the customs dock. Be patient. It can be a challenge to maintain a place in line among all the boats at anchor, especially when a good breeze kicks up. Note that the seaplane dock is near the customs dock, and arriving seaplanes will need to cut through the line of boats.

During the winter, early spring, and late fall months the customs and harbor offices are floated inshore to the dock area below the ramp to the main dock. The customs landing areas is designated across from the customs office. In winter, approach as though you are going to the fuel dock. The customs dock is to starboard, marked with signs, just below the ramp. Once tied to the dock, all crew must stay on the boat until cleared.

Call ahead for reservations. Ethanol-free gasoline and diesel at the fuel dock, open 9am – 6pm. Services include 30, 50, and some 100 amp power. Marina is equiped with showers, restrooms, laundry, portapotty dump, propane and free Wi-Fi. Pumpout is at the north end of the fuel dock, or call for a courtesy pumpout at your slip.
