Christmas Light Up at Butchart Gardens
Butchart Gardens, known to welcome visitors in droves during the summer months, transforms into a festive holiday wonderland throughout the month of December. Brimming with colourful lights, ice skaters, carolers, and more, you’ll feel magical following a visit to the gardens. Running December 1st through January 6th, visitors of all ages are sure to enjoy a holiday visit to Butchart Gardens.
Here’s everything you can expect this holiday season at Butchart Gardens.
The Lights
While flowers sleep, Butchart Gardens recreates a lighted version of the Twelve Days of Christmas. As you walk, you’ll recount your memory of the Twelve Days as you pass alongside three french hens, eight maids a-milking and more. Wandering through the gardens, lit by zillions of lights, you’ll be immersed within a magical holiday wonderland.
The Music
Offering visitors the chance to sign along, carollers and Festive Brass alternate every half hour from 5 to 9 PM every night.
The Snowflake Exchange
Known as ‘The Snowflake Exchange, free hot chocolate will be provided by The Coffee Shop to children 12 and under who bring in a homemade snowflake (made from an 8 by 11 sheet of white paper).
The Dining
With two venues, the more formal ‘Dining Room’ Restaurant or, a more casual, Blue Poppy Restaurant, making a full night at Butchart is easy. The Dining Room, overlooking Jennie Butchart’s private garden and the Saanich Inlet, offers a rotating menu with seasonal fare. Blue Poppy offers an array of food including soups, sandwiches, entrees, a kids menu and dessert too.
The Cost
Admission is $33 for adults, $16.50 for youth, $3.00 for children, and free entry to season pass holders.
