Greenway Sound Anchorage The Broughtons

Greenway Sound.  Greenway Sound has several good anchorages.  In 2016, the remaining buildings and docks for the now-closed Greenway Sound Marina Resort were removed.  The bay behind Broughton Point, at the east end of the Carter Passage, is pretty.

Depending on conditions, the anchorage is in a number of little nooks on both sides of Greenway Sound and behind Simpson Island, near the head of the sound.  Leave Simpson Island to starboard when approaching the head of Greenway Sound.  For excise, Broughton lakes Park, with access from a dingh6 dock on the west of the bay due east of Greenway Point, received much work in recent years and has excellent hiking.  The bay itself is a little deep for anchoring, so anchor elsewhere and take the dinghy over.  Good trout fishing at the lakes (freshwater license required), beautiful views.
