North Cove Thetis Island Anchorage
North Cove. North Cove indents the north end of Thetis Island and is a good anchorage, although it is open to northwesterly winds. A substantial rock breakwater protects a price float and boathouse at Fraser Point, the entrance to North Cove. Camp docks are in the southwest corner of the cove. Anchor in 24 to 36 feet (zero tide) along the south shore. High tide covers fingers of rock that extend from the south shore, but the rock reappears when the tide drops. Don’t get too close. Stay clear of the rocks in the middle of the entry. The charts show them as ++, for dangerous rocks 6 feet or less beneath the surface.
