Ocean Falls Small Craft Harbour

Ocean Falls Small Craft Harbour.  Open all year, public dock with ice, potable water, free Wi-Fi, 20 & 30 amp power, no fuel.

Ample dock space with reasonable rates and all the Link Lake water you need.  The water is sweet and pure and has gone through a further purification process.

“The Shack,” a yellow float house next to the ramp, has a book exchange, computer with internet, and tables and chairs.  Pay moorage in the Shack, or wait for the wharfinger to come down the docks in the morning or afternoon.  Visa and MC accepted.

Harbour owner Herb Carpenter runs the marine ways.  Herb built Melissa, the gold-coloured mermaid who welcomes boats to the docks.  In the downstairs corner of the marine ways building, they have a little gift shop.

Upstairs is Nearly Normal Norman’s Ocean Falls Museum, filled with items left behind by former residents of Oceans Falls.    Those of us over 50 will recognize many of the objects.  If the door is not open ask around.  Norman will open up for visitors.  Donations accepted.  Children will love visiting the “Fairy Rock” located a short distance from the docks on the road to Martin.  Children take great delight in finding coins hidden in the rock.  Be sure to let the wharfinger know if you plan to visit Fairy Rocks so the faires can be alerted; you can contribute coins at The Shack in support of this long-standing tradition at Ocean Falls.  Another fun tradition is the Annual Salmon Derby Barbecue weekend held in late August, a popular event drawing participants from other nearby communities.  Tickets for the barbeque can be purchased at The Shack.
