Pacific Playgrounds Resort & Marina.  Is open year-round, secure marina with transient and permanent moorage up to 40′, a few 46-foot spaces; 15 amp power, water at the docks, restrooms, showers; reservations accepted.  Payment made at the upland office open 9:00 am – 8 pm summer months.  Payment can also be made at the dockside “fishing shack” summer hours 6:00 am – 8:00 pm; hours vary off-season located 16 miles south of Campbell River (49° 52’N / 125° 7’W).  Pacific Playgrounds is accessed through a channel alongside, and south of Oyster River.    This is a challenging entrance, check the tide tables; marina personnel advise that a minimum tide of 7 feet is needed for a boat with a 4.5-foot draft; the depth is shallow lowest at the outermost channel market; access is not advised during high winds and swells.  Oyster River Plaza is a short walk from the marina, with shops, cafes, a supermarket, and other services.  A beautiful trail from the marina leads to a one-lane timber truss bridge over Oyster River, where you will find the Fishermen’s Lodge Pub.
