Quathiaski Cove Anchorage – Quathiaski Cove Marina

Quathiaski Cove (known locally as Q-Cove) is the Quadra Island landing for the ferry to Campbell River.  A public dock is next to the ferry landing and may rolly from ferry wakes and passing vessels.  A seasonal snack stand is in the ferry parking lot; a pub and restaurant are a short walk away.  A shopping center with a good grocery store, a tasty informal cafe, a pizza restaurant, a bank with an ATM, and a variety of stores to peruse is a few blocks up the hill from the ferry landing.  The grocery store will deliver to the dock.  The visitor’s centre is next to the bank.  A farmers market adjacent to the Visitor Centre is open Saturday mornings during the summer months.

Because of ferry traffic, the best anchorage is farther north, in the cove behind Grouse Sand.  Fingers of current from Discovery Passage work into Quathiaski Cove at some stages of the tide, so be sure the anchor is well set.

Quathiaski Cove Public Wharf is adjacent to the ferry landing.  The dock has 20,30 & 50 amp power, water, Wi-Fi, pay telephone, and a launch ramp.  Above the dock, there are new washrooms and shower facilities, with a number to call for a keycode after hours.  The dock has considerable mooring space, but we often find it crowded with local and commercial fishing boats.  Commercial fishing boats have priority.  The south side of the float is for seine fishing vessels.  managed by the Quadra Island Harbour Authority.
