Winter Harbour Marina – Winter Harbour Authority

Winter Harbour once was a commercial fishing outpost, and BC Packersowned the first major set of docks as you enter, including the fuel dock.  With the closing of fishing, their docks and fuel facilities have been taken over by the company that owns and runs the Outpost store.  Today Winter Harbour has 12 full-time residents and about 70 summer residents.

Winter Harbour Authority has Moorage on 450 feet of dock, water, waste oil disposal, garbage drop, recycling, 15, 20 & 30 amp power.  Power is run to the dock by extension cord; quality varies.  A payphone is at the top of the dock.  Cruisers may need to go to the Outpost to use the for-fee WiFi.  A tidal grid is available.  Qualicum Rivers, the fishing lodge next door, operates June through September and sells flaked ice to cruisers and has a restaurant.  Reservations required at the seasonal restaurant.

A sign on the dock asks shallow draft boats to allow deeper draft boats priority on the outer side.  Larger boats also anchor to the north of the public dock and at the head of Winter Harbour.
