Port Sidney Marina Vancouver Island Yacht Moorage

Located at 9835 Seaport Place Sidney BC V8L 4X3 (250) 655-3711 Monitors VHF 66A.  Open all year.  Facilities include 30, 50, & 100 amp power, water, washrooms, showers, laundry, Shaw Go Wi-Fi on the docks and free Wi-Fi in the comfortable marina lounge.  This is a popular marina, modern and well-maintained, adjacent to downtown Sidney.  Reservations recommended.  A for-fee pumpout, located between D and E docks, accommodates boats up to 40 feet.  The marina is part of the Mill Bay Marine Group, a company that owns several marinas throughout BC.

Call on VHF 66A low power before entering and exiting the breakwater.  When approaching from the north, pass between the two buoys just outside the breakwater entrance.  The easternmost of those buoys marks a reef.  do not try to enter between north end of the breakwater and shore,  If you are directed to the shore side of the long, main pier, do not stray outside the marked channel.  The bottom has been dredged alongside the shoreside dock, but shoal water lies just a few fee inshore.

The Customs check-in dock is on the end of G dock.  Customs can be cleared by using the direct-line telephone on the dock.  During summer months customs officers may be stationed there for inspections after calling in.  space at the dock is limited to one or two boats and once inside the breakwater maneuvering room is limited.  The marina office has a video camera pointed at the dock and they can advise over VHF if boats are waiting to clear customs.
