Hotham Sound Jervis Inlet Anchorage

Hotham Sound Jervis Inlet Anchorage.  Hotham Sound is a beautiful, 6-mile-long body of water, surrounded by high, rugged mountains.   The sound is sheltered from most strong winds, and in the summertime, the water is warm enough for swimming.  Friel Lake Falls tumble 1400 feet down the sheer mountainside near the Harmony Islands.  Unfortunately, good anchorages in Hotham Sound are few.

Wolferstan (Cruising Guide to British Columbia Vol. 3, Sunshine Coast, now out of print) devotes an entire chapter, with superb aerial photos to Hotham Sound; but for the most part, even his advice comes down to finding little niches along the shoreline.  Suitable anchorage is found in Baker Bay at the head of Hotham Sound.
