Bamfield Marina
The village of Bamfield covers both sides of the inlet, and the west side is not connected by road with the east side. You cross by boat or you don’t cross. The Bamfield General Store, with liquor agency, is on the west side of the inlet. A boardwalk runs along the homes and businesses on the west side, and folks get around by walking. The Boardwalk Bistro located near the West Bamfield public dock serves espresso drinks and delicious salmon burgers.
The east side has roads that tie its businesses and home together. They connect with a 60-mile-long dirt logging road that leads to Port Alberni. The east side has a hardware store and a marine store, pub, a small grocery store with a deli counter and a small cafe.
