Codville Lagoon Anchorage
Codville Lagoon is a provincial park on the east side of Fisher Channel. It is a popular anchorage, protected and pretty. Readers John and Deb Marshall reported that strong winds will work their way to the back cove. The narrow entrance is hard to locate, but Codville Hill, its moonscape of three peaks and barren rock slopes, is a good landmark. Favour the south side of the entrance to avoid a rock off the north shore. Anchor in 40 to 50 feet at the eastern head of the inlet. A trail runs from the northeastern shore of the anchorage to sandy beaches at beautiful Sagar lake. Correspondent Jim Norris warns of vicious sand fleas. This is bear country. Make noise as you walk.
