Invited To Speak on the Peace Boat in Support of United Nations
We could not be more proud to become a partner of Peace Boat on July 7-8, in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #14 – “Life Under Water”. Victoria International Marina Future Oceans staff will travel to New York to discuss our sustainable fashion initiative, present our industry leading marine partners, and our community of designers and artists to the world! We believe that the designers in this production have the influence and ability to create real positive shift in the emerging fashion industry- and we are behind them 100% in their mission!
Peace Boat is a Japan-based international NGO which promotes peace, human rights, and sustainability. Established in 1983, it holds Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN). Peace Boat carries out its main activities through a passenger ship that travels the world. Working in partnership with UN SDG Action Campaign, Peace Boat’s activities onboard and in port empower participants, strengthen local capacity for sustainability, and build people-to-people cooperation beyond borders.
