Ladysmith Marina – Ladysmith Fisherman’s Wharf

Ladysmith Community Marina located 1030 Ladysmith Monitors VHF 66A.  Best to phone or email for availability.  Open all year, 800 feet of guest moorage with 30 amp power, water, block and cube ice, pump out, free Wi-Fi, garbage, recycling, and compost accepted (donations appreciated).  Reservations recommended.  The impressive Ladysmith Maritime Society Welcome Centre, on a float at the docks, has a fireside lounge, washrooms, showers, laundry, and the seasonal Oyster Bay Cafe, which is open from mid-May to Sept from 8 am to 3 pm daily.  Adjacent with interpretive displays and an underwater portal to view the marine life.  It is hit with the kids.  The dinghy dock is on the cross-dock by the Welcome Centre.

These are the first set of docks on the southwest side as you enter Ladysmith Harbour.  The docks are very good and the historical displays, are fascinating.  The new Harbour Heritage Centre and an art gallery are up the hill in the large blue building.  The town of Ladysmith is a short walk away, up the hill.  Bus service runs to nearby shopping and a mall outside the town center.

Ladysmith Fisherman’s Wharf is open all year, 1200 feet of dock space, 30 amp power, garbage drop, washrooms, showers, laundry services, waste oil disposal, trailer parking.  Marine repairs the tidal grid and launch ramp.  Limited transient moorage.  Commercial fishing vessels have priority during the winter months.  Stairs lead up to the hill toward the own for Ladysmith, about one-half mile away.
