Queen Cove Anchorage
Queen Cove is a short distance inside the entrance to Port Eliza, the first inlet to port as you enter Esperanza Inlet. It is a safe and satisfying spot to put the hook down and explore, although not as beautiful as Nuchatlitz on the east side of Gillam Channel. Queen Cove is a popular anchorage among island circumnavigators. Anchor here and you’ll soon have company. The cove is well protected and has excellent holding in 20 – 40 feet. It is large enough for several boats in swing. A cabin with a dock is at the north end of Queen Cove. The Park River enters at the north end and makes a good dinghy exploration.
The most protected anchorage is the nook at the south end of Queen Cove, between the little island and the rock that dries at 3.4 meters (11 feet). The swinging room is a little restricted, but the anchorage is workable.
