Coal Harbour Yacht Moorage
Vancouver Harbour South is entered under the Lions Gate Bridge through First Narrows, in the north east corner of Burrard Inlet. Because of heavy commercial traffic, strong currents and narrow channels, sailing craft must be under power from westward of First Narrows unit well into Vancouver Harbour. No sailing is permitted through Second Narrows, either. In First Narrows, a strong ebb current meeting a fresh onshore breeze can create high, steep seas. Current predictions are shown in Tide and Current Tables, and Ports and Passes. Monitor VHF 12 for vessel traffic service information.
