Malcolm Island Lions Harbour Marina

They have good docks with 20 & 30 amp power, water, laundry, showers, garbage drop, Wi-Fi, office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm in the summer, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm in winter. Downtown Sointula is an easy bike ridge away, loaner bicycles are available at the Harbour Office.
Sointula’s extensive public docks are behind a rock breakwater at the head of Rough Bay, 1 mile north of the ferry landing. The docks are divided into north and south sections. Both sections are available to visiting boats and it’s an easy walk on the road between the two. Each set of docks has a garbage drop and pay phone. The north docks also have washrooms, showers and laundry, built and maintained by the Malcolm Island Lions Club. Solar panels on the roof provide the hot water. Both sections have potable water on the docks. All moorage is a first-come, first-served, side-tie only, no reservations, rafting allowed. Moor where it makes sense. Pay at the newly built office in the north section. The office staff is happy to provide you with more information on the town.
The Burger Barn, a local favorite, with good hamburgers, wraps, and fish & chips, is the bright red building in the parking lot.
Tarkanen marine Ways (250) 973-6710, capable of major and emergency work, is located near the boat basin. Tarkanen has three marine ways with varying size cradles that can accommodate vessels up to 60 feet. With the closing of Quarterdeck Boatyard in Port Hardy, this is the only marine ways between Campbell River or Lund and Shearwater. It is often busy serving commercial fishing boats.
