Dawson Landing Marina & General Store

Dawsons Landing Marina.  Dawsons Landing monitors VHF 06.  It’s open all year, gasoline and diesel fuel.  Guest moorage, hardware, groceries, charts, ice, fishing licenses, fishing and hunting gear, liquor, washrooms, showers, laundry, post office, two rental cabins with kitchenettes.  Satellite-based Wi-Fi available for a fee, pay at the general store.   Locally produced water available on the dock.  A helipad takes up part of the south end dock.  They scheduled air service from Wilderness Seaplanes and NW Seaplanes.

Dawsons Landing is owned by Rob and Nola Bachen and has been in the family since 1954.  This is a real general store, with an excellent stock of standard grocery items and an astonishing accumulation of tools and hardware.

Not that instead of cleats, you’ll tie to loops of rope set into the planks.  Absent bull rails, it’s easier and safer to clear the docks of snow in the winter.  The one dock with bull rails is used by floatplanes.

Smoked Salmon; it’s almost worth a trip to Dawsons Landing simply to stock up on the Bella Coola Valley Seafoods smoked wild Pacific Salmon that Nola carries in the store.   Several smoke flavours to choose from; the time of the year varies depending on the commercial fishing season.
