Victoria International Marina is nestled into the residential suburb of Victoria West and is walking distance to the heart of the city. While specializing in moorage for luxury yachts, their event space, the Waterfront Parlour, has arguably the most idyllic wedding event space in the city. Lacking the booking minimum common to hotels and home to its own on-site concierge, here’s all the reasons why you should have your wedding here.
The Venue
With double-height ceilings, and floor to ceiling windows, the Waterfront Parlour is aptly named. Sitting just slightly above the water and looking towards the outer harbour with Shoal Point and the cruise ships in the distance, the views are undeniable. Evenings here capture incredible sunsets. And, the specially crafted floors, swirled and blue, are meant to mimic the ocean bringing the water outside, in. The Waterfront Parlour will host up to 100 guests seated, or 200 for standing cocktail-type receptions.
The Location
First, it’s steps from the city – just across the Johnson Street Bridge and a few minutes along the waterfront boardwalk. It leaves accommodation options wide-open for your guests. Within only 15-minutes (on foot) or 5-minutes by car, they’ll have the choice of an Airbnb like those at the Janion or the Union, or more traditional options like hotel rooms at the Delta or the Regency. Those staying on the other side of the Harbour came make quick transit using a water taxi or Harbour Ferry.
And, to fill that often awkward time, between the ceremony and the reception, guests can stop for a quick snack at the Marina’s soon-to-open Boom & Batten, or the neighbouring Spinnakers Pub.
Parking
For those guests looking to drive, there’s nothing more frustrating than parking in the heart of the city. Thankfully, VI Marina is nestled into a residential setting with an abundance of street parking. Unlimited after 6PM and all day on Sundays.
