Wallace Island Marine Park Anchorage
Wallace Island Marine Park is open all year. Wallace Island, a marine park purchased with the help of the local boating community, is a low and beautiful tree-covered island in Trincomali Channel. Enter from Houstoun Passage. You’ll find sheltered anchorage and a dock at Conover Cove, anchorage for many boats in locally-named Princess Cove, and room for a couple of boats just inside Panther Point.
The park has toilets, campsites and picnic areas, and trails crisscrossing the entire island. It’s a fine place to walk through the forest and stretch the legs. Raccoons roam the area-especially at night, lock up all food items aboard and pack out refuse. Old cabins set in an orchard near Conover Cove are locked shut, awaiting funds for restoration. One cabin is festooned with carved name boards from visiting yachts. Please respect the two private properties on the island.
