Bacchante Bay Anchorage West Coast Vancouver Island
Bacchante Bay. Bacchante Bay, at the east end of Shelter Inlet, is a dramatic anchorage, with steep cliffs on both sides, an inviting grassy meadow at the head and a snow-capped mountain beyond. The narrow, shallow entrance is hidden until you are close. Bacchante Bay is part of Strathcona Provincial Park.
Bacchante Bay has ample room to anchor in 40 to 50 feet. Holding is excellent. If you run to the head of the bay, watch for abrupt shoaling off the meadow. At high tide explore Watta Creek by dinghy.
