Shearwater Marina – Shearwater Yacht Moorage
Shearwater marina monitors VHF 06 & 66A, the fuel dock monitors VHF 08. Open all year, 1500 feet of guest moorage, 15, 30 & 50 amp power all the way out the main float, free Wi-Fi and for fee premium Wi-Fi. Potable water is available on the guest docks and at the fuel dock. During prime season, register and pay for moorage at the dockside harbourmaster’s office, or at the hotel during shoulder season. Moorage reservations are highly recommended during the busy summer months. Cellular service is good. 200′ of guest moorage was added in 2018.
The fuel dock has diesel, gasonline, lubricants, propane, and Avgas and Jet A. On shore you’ll find an ATM, washrooms, showers, laundry, ice, restaurant, pub, haulout, launch ramp, and facilities for waste oil dump. Garbage drop and the recycling center. There is a small fee for recylcling to recover the costs of barging the material to Richmond B.C. A well-stocked grocery store, liquor store, and marine supply store are on the site along with a post office, coffee pastry bar, and gift shop. The showers and laundry room, in the building across from the store, are excellent.
The popular pub, with live entertainment, has a nice deck for outdoor dining. It’s a great place to meet other boaters and locals, who often share a table. It has a fine-dining venue located above the pub with outstanding view; open Friday and Saturday by reservation.
Shearwater is the most complete marine facility between Campbell River and Prince Rupert. The shipyard can haul boats to 70 tons and handle almost anything, from toilet repairs to electronics to repowers. They can order parts for you and coordinate their arrival by air if needed. Shearwater has it own 3000-foot airstrip for private aircraft. Scheduled airline service to Port Hardy and Vancouver is avaialbe from New Bella Bella. Shearwater is also a stop for the BC Ferries system.
