Little Nimmo Bay Anchorage

Little Nimmo Bay is a pretty anchorage, and the rock-strewn entrance is not as difficult as it appears on the chart – except on a low tide.  The Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort is located there.  Anchor in 24 feet, mud bottom.  Several small waterfalls tumble through the forest.   Grizzly bears are reported to be in the area.  Make lots of noise if you go ashore.  With care it is possible to go through to Nimmo Bay, also a good anchorage.

Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort (800) 837-4354 is a high end destination resort that specializes in helicopter fishing and Helicopter Day Trips with gourmet lunches.  While the resort has been open to visiting boaters in the past, it is now limited to boating guests staying in the on-shore resort accommodations, or booking spa massage services with advance reservations.   Larger vessels can anchor in Mackenzie Sound or Nimmo Bay and take the tender to the resort’s dock.  Floatplane service available from Kenmore Air and NW Seaplanes.
